DIY Spooky Skull Head

Here are the supplies you will need:

Total Time: 1 hour

Total Cost: $6/skull head + $9/butterflies + $1/paint and $1/baking soda

To make the skull look more life-like, I cut out the eyes of the skull using the razor blade on our Open-It tool.

Next, mix the baking soda and acrylic paint. I used a 50/50 ratio of paint to baking soda. The more baking soda you add, the more texture your skull will have.

Apply a generous amount of paint to your skull. You may need 2 coats of paint depending on how thick you apply the paint. Let dry between coats.

Once paint is dry you can move to the final step of hot gluing the butterflies to your skull.

Ideas on where to style your skull head(s): bar cart, entry table, front porch or even a centerpiece to your dining table.
